Looking for exceptional Teachers!
Te Whānau o Tupuranga
Year 7-13 Reo Rua / Dual Medium (L3).
The school’s designated character promotes a learning environment where: cultural identity, custom, language and knowledge is the norm, the philosophy and practice of whānau is a given, students participate in decision-making in curriculum content and planning, where parents and whānau are involved in the education of their children, in culturally familiar ways that are empowering, high expectations for excellence in learning are fostered in culturally sustaining ways so students have choices for the future. We are a Tangata Whenua led environment where Tangata Tiriti / Tangata Moana support the aspirations of Māori. Toitū te Tiriti is a kaupapa we promote daily.
We expect an indigenised curriculum, challenging the colonial norms and white spaces that are prevalent in schools throughout Aotearoa. We are looking for kaiako to join our team who are prepared to sit with, and honour, our kaupapa and not try to make it something else. Kaiako who are excited about the opportunity to work with staff who are ex-students and real examples of what our kaupapa can produce, who are ready to find ways to be active participants in our kaupapa and who are excited about being able to operate in an environment where being Māori is a given.
Proven commitment to Māori Medium learning environments is essential. Commitment to the special character of the school is a condition of employment.
